Our understanding of the evolutionary origin of animals and why there was a rapid increase in biodiversity around 530 million years ago has changed dramatically recently. Professor Smith will use the exploration of the very remote Sirius Passet fossil locality of North Greenland to try to guide us through new thinking on this important event
